Brian Gibson is a professor of English literature and film at Université Sainte-Anne in Nova Scotia. His film publications include articles on the serial killer in The Minus Man and Dahmer, surveillance in Tati’s PlayTime and Kubrick’s 2001, the transchild in Tomboy, and watching Avenue 5 and Bacurau during a pandemic. His collection of film essays, Fritz Lang’s Crotch Shot (and other film essays you never thought you’d want to read), can be found at Fritz Lang’s Crotch Shot. He remains most heartened and inspired by the students who were members of, and all who shared their stories with, the anti-rape culture campaign at his university, SA Change Now.
