Selen is a San Francisco-based reporter. Her work ranges from environmental architecture and '60s-'70s film, to Bay Area politics, housing, and city news. Her recent arts publications include Bayou Magazine, Whitewall Magazine, Senses of Cinema, and Cinema Retro She is a writer for Ethnic Media Services and the Piedmont Post. She was educated in philosophy at UC Berkeley.
