Since graduating in psychology from the University of Turin, Massimiliano Studer has published three monographs for Mimesis Edizioni: Olympia (2014), Alle origini di Quarto potere: Too Much Johnson, il film perduto di Orson Welles (2018), and Orson Welles e la New Hollywood. Il caso di The Other Side of the Wind. He currently teaches at the Cinema and Television school ITSOS in Milan and he has a PhD in cinema studies from the University of Udine. He was responsible for rediscovering the Orson Welles Archive in the National Museum of Cinema in Turin.
