Danilo de Athayde is a Brazilian poet, essayist, translator, and film critic. He is a PhD candidate in literary studies at the University of Porto and the Federal University of Minas Gerais, affiliated with the Margarida Losa Institute for Comparative Literature, and editor of Em Tese. His research moves between literature, science, cosmology, and epistemology, while his essays often explore cinema and poetry. He is the author of Estar na Grama, Poemas, Zumbi, and Poema é Isto. His literary work has been recognized by the Sesc Poetry Prize and the Latin American University Literature Award. Alongside his doctoral research, he is currently at work on Noemáfagos (Noemaphages), a new poetry collection.
