Steven Dedalus Burch is a professor of theatre history and playwriting at the University of Alabama. Most recently he has published Breaking Boundaries: An Anthology of Original Plays from the Focus Theatre, editor, and Stanislavski in Ireland: Focus at Fifty, co-editor, both published by Carysfort Press. He was also a recipient of a Playwriting Fellowship from the New York State Foundation for the Arts for his play Love Nor Money. He received his PhD in theatre research and a minor in film history from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Since 2005 he has been the co-artistic director of The Rude Mechanicals, a free Shakespeare in the park company based in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.
