Author: Sek Kei

Sek Kei, one of Hong Kong's foremost critics, was born in Macau in 1946. He writes regularly for the Ming Pao Daily, is Advisor for the HK International Film Festival and HK Film Archive, and has been a member of the jury for Taiwan's China Express Film Award and China's Zhuhai Film Festival. This article is reprinted by permission of the author and the 1991 Hong Kong International Film Festival in whose catalog it first appeared.
