Dr. Randy Laist is professor of English and chair of the English Department at the University of Bridgeport in Connecticut. He is the author of several books, including The Twin Towers in Film: A Cinematic History of the World Trade Center and Cinema of Simulation: Hyperreal Hollywood in the Long 1990s. He has also published numerous articles on American literature, popular culture, and pedagogy. His writing has appeared in The New York Times, Salon, and The Chronicle of Higher Education.
