Nicholas de Villiers received his PhD in Comparative Studies in Discourse and Society from the University of Minnesota in 2004. His dissertation, "Opacities: Queer Strategies," explored the public personas of Michel Foucault, Hervé Guibert, Roland Barthes, and Andy Warhol. He has published essays in Sexualities, Forum, Theory & Event, and Paragraph: A Journal of Modern Critical Theory. He currently teaches film and literature at Minnesota in the department of Cultural Studies and Comparative Literature.
