Mark Dow is the author of American Gulag: Inside U.S. Immigration Prisons (California, 2004). His unpublished Plain Talk Rising was a finalist in the 2010 New Issues Poetry competition. His essays and poems have appeared in Agni, Boston Review, Caribbean Review of Books, Los Angeles Times, New York Times, Killing the Buddha, Paris Review, and PN Review (UK). He teaches English at Hunter College in New York.
