Angelos Koutsourakis is a doctoral candidate at the University of Sussex, conducting research at the films of Lars Von Trier. Trained as a dramaturge at the University of Athens, Angelos gained an MA in modern drama and performance at the University College Dublin. His current research attempts to re-read Brecht's position in film theory through Von Trier's filmography. His research interests include European art cinema, avant-garde cinema and theatre, and American independent film. His publications have appeared in the journal Communications from the International Brecht Society.
