The Last Mimzy (note the difference in spelling) was based on the classic sf story “Mimsy were the Borogroves” (1943) written by the husband and wife team of Henry Kuttner and C.L. Moore (using the pseudonym Lewis Padgett), which was in turn inspired by the poem “Jabberwocky” by Rev. Charles Dodgson (using the pseudonym Lewis Carroll). The story was previously adapted for French television as “Tout spliques étaient les Borogroves” (1970).
One wonders if Ms. Farmer’s first name was also inspired by the Carroll poem or, for that matter, whether she is related to sf writer Philip José Farmer.
